No, we do not provide extended care.
Drop off for campers is between 8:45-9 am. Please do not arrive before 8:45 am as camp staff will not be available to greet you.
Any campers staying for a full day of camp should bring their own lunches that do not require refrigeration or a microwave. Lunches should be nut-free.
Campers are more than welcome to bring their own snack. All snacks must be nut-free. However, SMI provides a nut-free snack for each session.
1. Closed-toe rubber-soled shoes – sneakers, no crocs or sandals. We will be moving and walking around a lot.
2. Lightweight jacket or hoodie. We do not control the temperature in the room, and it may be chilly.
3. Water bottle. There is also a bottle filler in the building.
4. Small backpack or drawstring bag to hold their possessions (optional).
5. Snack (optional). We will provide snacks, but if you have an eater who is particular or has dietary restrictions you can send something as a back-up. We are a nut-free camp.
SMI meets and exceeds state requirements.
The number of campers per program depends on the program offering. There is a maximum of 20 in the grades 4-9 Robotics camp and all other camps 25-30 campers.
Most activities take place indoors. However, weather permitting, campers are encouraged to spend a few minutes outdoors during breaks.
No, campers will not keep the robots. The robots will remain the property of Science & Math Innovators.
The only requirements to attend the grades K-3 camps are to be able to write their name, recognize numbers and the alphabet. Attendees of the grades 4-9 camps should be able to read and write independently. Counselors will assist, but the above requirements should be met.
We advise against this because our program content is designed for the listed grade range. We believe our campers will have the best experience possible, by being paired with their peers.
We advise against bringing any electronics to camp - including video game consoles, tablets, eReaders, cell phones, etc. SMI will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items. If you wish to send your child to camp with a cell phone, please note these items can only be used during breaks.
No. Anything valuable or precious should be left at home. If your child brings a toy or any other personal item, these items should remain in their backpack during the day. SMI is not responsible for any lost or damaged items.
A limited number of scholarships are available each year. An application and proof of your stated income is required.
Full payment is required to register for camp. There are various payment plans, such as the PayPal payment plan or PayPal credit, that allow payment over a few months.
Any request for a refund submitted in writing 30 days prior to the start of camp will be refunded minus a $50 processing fee, per registrant. Any request for a refund submitted in writing after 30 days but by 21 days prior to the start of camp will be refunded at 50%. After that time, no refund is available.

6. Disrespect to other campers and staff
Camp fees will not be refunded should campers be dismissed from camp.
